When I taught Media Literacy at Centennial College I would tell my students that if you can write, you will always work. It's a skill set that can be applied across so many platforms. Through my business, I have written political content (Pickering Councillor Shaheen Butt), media pitches (#CaribbeanTalesFilmFestival), social media scripts (Real Estate Agent Brandt J Morris), Web content ( Ian O. Webster "The Financial Fighter") and an investment presentation book (Freeman Estate Sephton L. Spence). I honed that skill as a journalist for Citytv and CTV where you have to be able to write expertly and authoritatively about the news of the day with very little prep time. Writing is both a skill and a talent that can be a consistent form of revenue - especially if you are open to all formats. Words can write your destiny, it's up to you to use them.
