What Does Your Brand Say About You?

Have you checked out my Brand Brilliance Bootcamp Series on my Youtube channel? If you are trying to figure out what your brand is, how to build your brand and how to market it, this is the series for you! Creating your brand is an on-going process. I’ve refreshed mine several times since I launched my business six years ago. My colour palette has changed, my fonts have changed and how I outreach has been tweaked over and over again.

A lot of people think it’s one and done. That you pick a couple of colours, fonts, a tag line and then you are good to go. However, there is more to it than that. Think about brands that resonate with you - from the red and yellow of McDonalds with the signature M, or Ikea with the block font and the distinct blue and yellow. You want your brand to stand out and stick in the minds of customers, so that even if they can’t remember the name, they remember the colour or the font style.

You also want to be consistent with your social media and the platforms that you choose to use. Know where your audience is and create content that appeals to them. There are so many tools on all of the platforms - YouTube, IG, Facebook, LinkedIN, Tic Tok and X, that enables you to see peak audience times, who’s checking out your content and where. Take advantage of that information and tailor your posts accordingly.

Keep your messaging in line with your brand and your customer base. As much as we like to share funny animal videos or vacation photos, save that for your personal accounts. You want to find ways to engage with consumers through things such as polls, calls to action, contests and interactive content. Social media can be a powerful marketing tool for your business at a low cost if you use it correctly.

I’ve already posted Part 1 and Part 2 of the series, and Part 3 is coming out this week. Make sure you check them out - they are only about 5 minutes long and full of valuable information. Part 4 will be coming out in two weeks. Did I mention there are free worksheets (password: YOUTUBE) that you can download to help you organize your brand book? This is a no-cost opportunity to get your brand on point - get on it!
